Small Village with Tree Original Collage

This collage depicts a small village with three houses, trees made with old book pages tiny flowers.  A fun little message cut from book pages reads "It is curious to think of him almost never."  The background is layered tissue paper printed with ferns.  The edge of the wooden panel is a complimentary yellow.

All paper used to create the images was hand-printed using a gel plate, acrylic paints, stencils and natural elements including flowers, leaves, weeds and grasses.  After pulling the prints the papers are torn and cut into the desired shapes and pieced together.  Papers are adhered to the substrate with an archival matte gel medium.  This piece is on canvas.
