Alligator Original Collage

This alligator was one of my first collages that I created to show my love of all types of animals.  Fun fact reads: "Alligator: A large semi-aquatic reptile similar to a crocodile but with a broader and shorter head native to America and China." He's depicted traversing some swampy grasses and weeds against an abstract blue background and underneath a bright sun.

All paper used to create the images was hand-printed using a gel plate, acrylic paints, stencils and natural elements including flowers, leaves, weeds and grasses.  After pulling the prints the papers are torn and cut into the desired shapes and pieced together.  Papers are adhered to the substrate with an archival matte gel medium.  This piece is on canvas.
