Feathered Friend Chicken Original Collage

My Feathered Friend Chicken collage is one of my favorites.  I have a love of all animals and wanted to show the beauty of chickens with their many different feather colors in this collage.  This print features a brown and red chicken on a dark, abstract background.  Our feathered friend perches happily on a rock.  Fun fact text reads "Chicken.  A large and round short-winged bird domesticated from the red jungle fowl of Southeast Asia 8,000 years ago". 

All paper used to create the images was hand-printed using a gel plate, acrylic paints, stencils and natural elements including flowers, leaves, weeds and grasses.  After pulling the prints the papers are torn and cut into the desired shapes and pieced together.  Papers are adhered to the substrate with an archival matte gel medium.  This piece is on canvas.
